diy gear lever

hey all!
saw a pic of a bloke who'd made his own gear linkage earlier but forgot where i saw it!! it was on here!

question is what needs to be used is it a rose joint or a spherical bearing?

im guessing rose but not too sure

and reason being is id rather save money than paying for an expensive omega lever+link and make my own short shift too :p

yes it is ..but...i found that if you search for rod end bearing they are cheaper than rose joint for some reason ...
