Spring rates

Is there a rule of thumb or simple way of calculating spring rates if corner weights are known. Or is it just fit the standard adjustable and wind up the adjusters to get ride height. Also i read an older thread about progressive springs, has anymore work been done on the subject?

Depends on your weight as to rear spring rate,if they are not high enough you will not get the corner weight right and it makes a big difference to handling.
