If you look at the widest point of the seat and its position in the chassis then there are no tubes in the area boundered by TR3, U4, BR5 and D7 so you have the full width of the chassis all the way out to the inside of the ally skin that goes on the outside of the chassis sides - 1118mm
Further the seats are 445mm and the space in the chassis is 470mm
470mm - 445mm = 25mm So they fit even if the chassis tubes were in that area - Point!
As shown in Dave Bolams picture they fit and plenty of others have fitted them but if you are concerned then don't use them
