![]() Is a stick welder ok to use for tacking the chassis? Obviously not suitable to fully weld it I know.

![]() The tack is just there to hold the pieces together to stop try and prevent any welding distortion, so i personally would say yes it will be ok, but you'll need to make sure any slag is removed before you fully weld with a MIG or TIG, otherwise you'll get impurities in the weld.

![]() Yes this will be fine for tacking up with and even welding the chassis with if you are competent using it
It is just much easier and quicker to use a mig As Tatey says make sure you remove all traces of slag from your tacks before welding over them |

![]() As above really.
Go for it but don't get too keen with the tacks....... You'll soon find a hole where you didn't want one ![]() ![]()

![]() I'm doing mine with arc. You get better penetration with arc. Don't turn the current up too far and you won't burn through.
