Sounds like some of it's ponies had escaped the stable.
We build mx5 race cars at the uni and we have just fitted a MK2.5 in a MK1, original engine dynode at 113bhp, the new one dynode 148 at the wheels, admitedly it had had a bit of tinkering done to the inside but boy it bloddy well flys now for such a small car.

mines flywheel @200 horses, but I have a set of larger injectors to go in as well then we will get her onto the rollers and see what she makes then
to be honest you can more than hold your own against some very very expensive machinery out there to well over the legal limit (or so I believe officer) before aero's come into play
One thing I have played around with is my shock settings and have actually softened the rebound on mine, I know its subjective to where you have the to begin with but I am quite happy with mine now,
although next on my shopping list are a pair of JK composite seats (soooo comfy) a change of wheels (pure cosmetics) and an lsd as she gets a bit squirmy when administering those horses,
OK WHO SAID IT WAS FINISHED...........not me
but one thing that cant be replaced or changed is the ear to ear grin when out blatting
