MX5 rear wishbone issue

Redone the wish bones & fitted 8" springs 250lbs, no more bottoming even on the severe bumps on our roads, the old springs we're supposed to be 7" but now only measure 6 1/2" ??
Any way all you s good again & I have had to trim the rear arches again where the tyre was touching on the bumps, obviously more travel now. New wishbones holding up well.
