how ever you do it make sure the number plate is covered even if its on a trailer as the anpr cameras will send you a nice fine.
I have towed a shed load of cars to the breakers with my A frame.

Also some long distance trips as well.

Rover 400 from Birmingham, Vauxhall corsa also from Birmingham. Ford fiesta from Swindon. Triumph vitesse form Dorset.

All of them all the way to cornwall. All with exeption of the fiesta had no documentation.
Passed dozens of Patroll cars & plenty of ANPR cameras. No interest shown by any of them.

I bought my Mazda down to Cornwall from Essex on a trailer behind my Citroen BX estate. That was a bit hairy. Bloody 22hr round trip

Car Transporter Trailer hire can be had for around £75 for 24hrs, or £150 for a week. Maybe less if you haggle. I've been looking into the whole trailer thing, cos all the cheap donor cars are without MOT and Tax.

Why not book it in for an MOT near your house, you pick it up and drive towards the MOT station, And say it breaks Down, right outside your house?

When I went to go and get my donor it was about 50minutes away. I got insurance (£20ish) but it didn't have tax, it did have an mot. I did try and get tax from the post office but they wouldn't take my faxed copy of the insurance.
I didn't get stopped but if I did I had it "booked" into my mates gargage just incase and would have said it was sold without an MOT.

Sorry,

I failed to mention it has a broken cam belt. Has to be towed one way or another.

I picked up a sierra on Monday and drove 15 miles on the back roads from Larne to Belfast, no mot or tax, had insurance, past 2 cop cars,
the car started to go off a cylinder or 2 last 5 mins, thought i was gonna have to get out and ditch the car, if it had of stalled and the cops were to come along, allsorts of fines, car impounded, points on me licence, would have been cheaper to leave it at the side of the road..
the reason I took the risk, I couldn’t find a donor anywhere, this one turned up in a scrap yard, and the scrap man said a few stock car boys where sniffing round it so I paid him £150 and came out of the scrap yard (sideways) trying not to draw attention to myself.
Dedicated to my build I guess
took me around 20mins to get home,
sweating like a whore all the way..

i was breakin the law breakin the law
