![]() Hi James
What engine have you got ? If you know the exact location of the engine number, it sometimes helps to polish the area up with a bit of emery paper & light oil ( A wire wheel in a drill may also do the job ). This may at least make the engine number legible. ![]()

![]() I can't restamp it on cos i don't know what it is supposed to be
![]() To cut a long story quite short, It is a 1800 zetec block with a stage 3 Escort RS turbo head ,stage 2 turbo, plus a few other mods to make it produce around 220 bhp. I pulled the block out of a Xr2i 16v (on k plate i think) about 7 or 8 years ago and since then it has been in and out of a couple of cars. I've never bothered about the engine number before cos i haven't needed to ![]() I've tried a bit of wet and dry and carb cleaner to no avail, i think i'm gonna have to try harder |
