The modifications are listed here, complete with details and drawings. The engine isn't the greatest in its power delivery and its fat. Its not that its a bad idea, its just that there are more suitable engines to use.
I'm using the escort version of the engine (16v, 150bhp) in my kit car. and its not been a problem yet.
