I looked at the McSorley plans but as you say it's the live axle width problem, which you would'nt have with made to measure sierra shafts that Autograssers use. Regards the seat height I was planning to add 150-200mm to the height of the seat back uprights and tubes U1-8 pushing tubes tr8-9 higher and giving me more 'knee' room.
