It looks like a MT75 gearbox. Its bellhousing is wider than Type 9, so the chassis needs to be modified to accomodate it. The plans for the changes to the chassis were available on this forum before The Big Hack, supposedly someone will repost them at some point.

The upsides of MT75 against Type 9 are: a newer design, able to handle a bit more torque, perhaps somewhat lighter as well with all-ally case construction.
