It looks like a mash of a few parts. I think it looks like an edis 4 module and coil pack of an early Zetec Escort..... although I welcome a more learned answer

Its hardly a "Megajolt System" as it has no megajolt controller or HT leads and judging by the fact there is no other plugs in the loom, it never was a megajolt system. I imagine all this will do it allow the engine to start and run a limp home mode I.E. not over 2000 rpm.
