Used the most in what? Dunno how many Haynes roadsters have an R1 lump, I am sure the majority have used something easily available, like a Sierra engine, or a zetec.

People use all sorts of engines, Hedgabuser is a firm favourite, giving the thick end of 180+ bhp.
There is a whole list of engines used a lot in BECS - ZX (10, 12, 14R), Blackbird, ZZR 14, R1, GSXR thou, Fireblade etc.

The R1 has been around for a while and the engines come up at a reasonable price quite a lot.

Don't forget, when using a bike lump you will need a reverse box.
