There is another book, "How to build motorcycle engined race cars" or something like that.

But, it is not a set of plans, it gives design info etc. but not a parts listing.

As for cheap, well, they can cost what you like up to a point. Might be worth keeping an eye on Eblag for an old formula ford chassis or something

You could always message Chris and ask, although he might not be able to divulge any information (Haynes probably saw what can go out)
