Yep, all you have to do is cut the rack proper by ~19 cm, drill & tap it for M14x1.5 (or is it 9/16 UNF?), and shorten the shell. Personally, I'm not sure I have the means to do that -- a cheap hand drill will hardly do to drill a 20 mm d12 hole in hard steel
What is the right way to drill a hole along the axis in a 50 cm long rod?

Using a milling machine would be the best way and probably the safest.

I have a Merkur lefthand rack (Sierra). Also Merkur Diff (Sierra).
If the rack has to be shortened by 19cm, is it possible to make the frame a little wider say (10cm) and reduce the 19cm to say (9cm). Then use spacers in the rear driveshafts/hubs? (these numbers are just guestimated at this time) Or would this compromise the build in other areas? ie Body panels to be adjusted accordingly. (Not started my build yet, just gathering some information and bits and pieces) cheers, Bill |

Stick with the escort rack, I know it's a pain but it realy is the most sensible option.
Just need to get it across the pond. TT

Rally design still do them.
