The granada can strip spliens on the input shaft if the transmission lockup engages at the wrong time as this puts too much strain on the input shaft. Other than that they aint too bad. Certainly no worse than any other moden auto.
The nice thing with an auto is the lack of need for clutch and gear select when accelerating hard. My old Volvo T5 auto could outperform a manual up to the legal limit from a standing start. TT
