Hi Angus,
The new racks we supply are 2.9 turns lock to lock and as with Ronnie the full travel is 130mm. AndyH

i know a trick the hot rodders would use was to remove the rack gator and undo the knuckle/track rod on the end of the rack its self and make a bumpstop from nylon or simular or increase the size of the orignal to reduce the lock to lock distence to stop wheels rubbing arches.
would that work if not you will need to make yourself some kind of hard stop
