there used on trains and are pritty resilent to wear and grime tho there would be no give in the joint at all

rubber boots can be aquired to keep the dirt out

if anyone where useing them i would recomend nylon lined ones as thay are not to harsh but its so thin your practily running metal to metal

the only place i had thort of useing them was to repace the top balljoint/trackrod end for top of the front hub and maybe the rear ajuster to
