The MT75 is lighter and more advanced, but the Type 9 is considerably smaller and has far superior after market parts and upgrades available for it. Remote gear extensions, quick shifts, any number of ratios, stronger gears, aluminium housings, dog gears, sequential gears. All these are off the shelf parts for the type 9.

Err, are you sure the mt75 is lighter than the t9? I wheighed both of mine before deciding which box to use and the t9 was definately lighter, but mine has a mk2 escort rs 2 ally bellhousing not the cast iron one Ray
