![]() Hi guys. Long time no speak!
How is everyone? Got abit of a dilema, chassis is going in for a blast, zinc coat and a powder coat on wednesday. I really want to know if there is any reason that I shouldnt just weld my roll bar to my chassis? Also, does the chassis number have to be stamped? Or can I rivit a plate on afterwards? Cheers Guys, Jas

You will find that you cant stamp the chassis tubes as they are too thin so i stamped a piece of 5mm then welded that to the chassis. The only reason not to weld your roll bar in permanently is incase you need to remove it for access, its probably a little stiffer having it welded rather than bolted in anyway |

![]() If your chassis is as per the book and not modified for a fibreglass rear tub, you can't get a fuel tank in or out with the roll bar welded on.

![]() I've got a fiberglass rear tub and fuel tank goes in and out fine!
Should I get the chassis stamped before or after powder coating please? Jas

![]() Depends on how much powder coated is applied, if they do a good job you probs wouldnt see the numbers through the coating
Ask them if they can mask that area off so the no.s stay visible then just paint over it lightly with hammerite When my rocker cover was powder coated they masked of the breather outlets so its no bother if you ask |
