thanks for the reply will have a go later this week mite use the sat nav to get a good calibration

if you use a thing called a proximity switch (rs online) you can switch of almost any metal part

i have seen theaes used on motorbike in disc bolts to run speedo

come in loads of diffrent sizes and can be made real small sme are like a 1 inch m4 stud with a wire coming out

thay do need a 6-24v dc supply but v low ampage
