The DOHC, CVH and ZETEC flywheels I have all have an offset hole so there MUSt be an offset hole in the crank.
You usually find this out when you've toqued up five of the bolts and the last one won't go in DOH! Try fitting the flywheel and nipping upo the bolts. I will check later on my old TIS to see if the official manual can Identify a mark or reference. BV. |

No Mention of it in TIS, just undo and do up 6 bolts.

Holes are definately offset - the flywheel will only go on one way.

Yep, as said there is only one way it fits.
Holes are offset to ensure the timing of the 36 -1 is always correct. |

Which version of TIS? Mine has note about aligning flywheel to crank on escort zetec manual as does the '543 for the DOHC... BV |

almost all engines have only one postion of fitting the crank/flywheel as how else couuld it be fitted central and in ballance to the crank!
