![]() well, i had a look at my huge steel stock and thought i may as well have a go at the front frame, at worst i would waste a bit of tube. After almost severing my finger with a hacksaw and cocking up the section cut i finally managed it and its straight!!!!
il get some pics up later Should i Fully weld the front frame to the bottom chassis rails at this stage or just tack them and leave some claps in place? im trying to keep my tacks as small as possible so i can get some beautiful welds later on without having to do too much grinding. |

![]() Congratulations on getting the front frame done, I had a nightmare with mine during the week, I am sure it is born of the devil, a son of Satan

![]() well done at cracking the front frame,
![]() Yes it is the hardest bit in the chassis build ![]() May I ask which gearbox you are fitting? if its the Type 9 box then you have part "U7" in the wrong place , said politely . cheers andy |

I completely overlooked that. I was intending on using an mt75. Will it be ok to leave it in position or does tr5 have to butt up to it? |

As for TR5..... it all depends on which engine you are using, the "Book" has been written around installing a Pinto engine, so TR5 fits no prob, but if installing any other engine TR5 tends to get in the way, some builders don,t install TR5 at all & put extra corner braces between TR1 to TR8 & TR2 to TR8. hope this helps. cheers andy |
