Congratulations on getting the front frame done, I had a nightmare with mine during the week, I am sure it is born of the devil, a son of Satan

well done at cracking the front frame,

Yes it is the hardest bit in the chassis build

May I ask which gearbox you are fitting? if its the Type 9 box then you have part "U7" in the wrong place , said politely .

cheers

Oops,

I completely overlooked that. I was intending on using an mt75. Will it be ok to leave it in position or does tr5 have to butt up to it?

If you are using the MT75 box, then check the info in the announcement section which gives the dimensions of the chassis when installing a MT75 box,

As for TR5..... it all depends on which engine you are using, the "Book" has been written around installing a Pinto engine, so TR5 fits no prob, but if installing any other engine TR5 tends to get in the way,
some builders don,t install TR5 at all & put extra corner braces between TR1 to TR8 & TR2 to TR8.

hope this helps.

cheers

great, thanks

I might do away with tr5 then,as im undecided on the engine just yet as i need to get the chassis rolling first due to space issues. Iv just bought a mini milling machine so il try and make some sexy looking corner braces.

cheers

No prob, happy to help

If you are undecided on which engine, just be aware that using an MT75 box will mean you have a slightly smaller drivers footwell, & the pedal box needs to be made to suit the available footwell space , its not a problem, just needs to be thought about early in the build.

For the corner braces, just a small length of steel approx 6 inches or so with angles cut to fit will help brace the engine bay.

Best wishes for your build

cheers
