![]() You could make a fem small aluminium plates, stamp them and rivet on in places only you know about. Production cars have riveted on plates, can't see it being a problem.

![]() I thought you had to stamp the chassis and also have a vin plate attached also.
I failed sva on the point of not having the chassis number stamped into it(2004)although i had a vin plate riveted on. |

![]() Production vehicles have vin stamped into the metal part of the chassis that is not readily/easily removeable for obvious reasons,Some have stamped a metal plate and welded it to the chassis and have passed IVA.
The tag on cars can be ally and in most cases have a plastic one stuck to B/post or door pillar and similar is placed in in the n/s/f lower corner of the front screen. Tag has front and rear axle weight, gross weight and train weight and sometimes engine and paint/trim info. A dremel or engraver might give decent results.

![]() I agree with 3ge, stamp in onto a plate, and weld that to a chassis member on the right hand side of the engine compartment, the brace is good.
If you don't have any thin plate (1.5mm is good) cut a piece out of a an offcut of square tube. Then you need the manufacturer's plate as well, usually riveted to the front face of the scuttle, might be a good idea to put the axle weights on it too, although I passed a car through Leighton Buzzard this month without them. |

![]() DVLA require the bodyshell/chassis number to be stamped or etched on directly to the metal.
Many have stamped the number on a plate then welded it on with no problems. Make sure it's fully welded not just tacked on...... Number should be under bonnet on the right hand side. BV. |
