try and use the original sump as a replacement will cost a lot of money. You can use a zetec sump on a cvh - same flange and bolt patter but one like this modified will cost a lot:

TT - i think we posted at the same time but thanks for keeping me right.

Cheers....AndyH

Holey moley Andy .... I nearly had to pop a few of my ticker pill's when I saw the price of that modded sump.

See standard alloy sumps at the breakers all the time .... A couple of those a year would certainly pay for the upkeep of my TIG welder

I have told Junior that any alloy Zetec sumps spotted at the breaker's will be coming home

Andy

You could well be right

Sounds like a good excuse to finally build that grit blasting cabinet that I have the materials for

Anway's back on topic

Use the engine that will best fit in with your long term plans.

If you are going to keep the engine that you first build with, fit the 2 Litre DOHC.
Have a read of Enoch's Blog .... Here

If you are toying with the idea of going the Zetec route at a later date, fit the CVH, it will be so much easier come swap time

It certainly is a last resort Ronnie, does look well made and about the cheapest there is about. The cvh sump is fine for both but the metal is very thin and can be badly perished in most cases, as i'm sure most people have found.

Could be a good sideline though Ronnie......AndyH
