![]() Hi there, I retained the Sierra engine loom and made the rest of the loom from scratch. It is quite easy to make the engine loom as well, that way all the wires could be made to the correct length and routed very neatly. I shortened all my wires at the ECU end after I had test started the engine and made sure everything was OK.

![]() I would recommend adopting Enoch's approach. Although the other solutions will work, and may ultimately produce a bit more power (or a bit less) they are going to cost (possibly a lot) more and take longer.
If one really was looking for the absolute most possible power then one probably wouldn't start with that engine anyway. Using the original ecu will result in a smooth running reasonably powerful engine, and the only issue to resolve is the manifold. I've driven an indy fitted with the DOHC engine running on the original ecu and manifold and was quite impressed. |

![]() Running on a DOHC with Power steering removed I used this belt.:-
http://www.camskill.co.uk/products.php?mode=search hope this link works if not go to camskill website and search for 6PK1285 I think the part number system is fairly self explanitory in that 1285 is the mm dimension In hindsight I should removed the belt tensioner as well as it's not really doing anything for me with the belt setup as it is but hey ho I'll find another belt when I get 5 mins Rapidtornado |

![]() not sure probably have to make an adjustable bracket on top of alternator so there is some kind of belt tensioner, I'll let you know how I get on

![]() Andy B, I can't remember the belt size off the top of my head, I just measured it, went to Halfords and bought one as I did not have one the correct size in my stash. My engine sits about 30mm below the chassis rails at the lowest point, it needs a fairly significant bulge in the bonnet to clear the cam covers, lifting eye and fuel pressure regulator.

![]() I am fairly certain there is a stock DOHC setup without the tensioner.
