![]() If the bushes are not that a tight fit into the steel tube, you may still safe the day if the crush tubes are a very tight fit and needed to be pressed in with a vice. This will expand the OD (outside diameter) of the bush resulting in a tight fit.
Do not worry if it goes in that tight; since the crush tube is press fitted the "expansion" pressure will be equal throughout the bush resulting in the same pressure for crush tube to bush and bush to steel tube. Since the crush tube OD area is much smaller than the bush OD area, the slip will be automatically be on the crush tube - IOW, the bush will slip on the crush tube. ![]() |

![]() Thanks for the replies. I think that the best solution will be getting replacements, if I've paid for them I may as well get the correct size.
Andy I don't want to say on open forum who the supplier was as I feel that it would be unfair to the company as I haven't yet discussed the problem with them. |
