Type 9 is the older style sierra Gearbox and MT75 is the newer style sierra gearbox found in the likes of the 2.0 dohc models.

Easiest way is to check where reverse is - top left is a type 9, bottom right is an MT75.

This is a type 9 ( or see my build pics in my signature to see my type 9)

Although having flicked round ebay and autotrader for a donor Sierra they apear to be coming hard to find! I find that odd!

Keep looking on ebay as they do appear every know and then, also keep your eye on the forum as they get advertised hear as well.

Cheers for the heads up shame its a bit early for me and in the IoW but i will keep looking as and when

Having had a scoot around here i think i will try to go for a type9 having read the the MT75 cuts out some room for the pedal box which looks tight already!
