Good point, if the roll bar got ripped off or shunted I suppose it would pull the seat belts really tight onto you.
But I'm guessing this would be the least of your problems.
How I proposed though the belts would still pass over the roll bar to get the correct shoulder height, therefore if it did get torn off the belts would get pulled to.
