Guess it depends on what engine you intend to fit ?

If fitting a pinto, TR5 shoud not get in the way.

Personally, I have fitted a Zetec in my build & TR5 gets in the way if the inlet manifold so I have removed it.

I believe quite a few folk have removed that brace & have replaced it with a couple of shorter ones, either side of the engine bay ( Your engine choice will dictate the length of the new braces )

The picture in the book probably had TR5 left out to provide more detail of the engine & steering position
