Make it into an inspection panel get a larger piece as you sugest an bolt it on with a neoprene / nitrile rubber gaskett ( one o them cant remember whicb is better )

Im fitting an internal pump so i need a large inspection panel so planned this route to fit my pump but im not using ally

Tiger seal is not fuel proof, ask me how I know!!!
Cork and or rubber if you must, you could take the opportunity to fit breathers and fuel return gubbins.

£40 quid he could pay someone to weld it back up !

Or the less than a tenner option cork preferably a fuel resistant rubber gasket and some bolts

Remember the book title ? Lol

i would have happily donated a tube full to the cause as we use it everyday....

personally i would weld it back up but if you "needed" to use sealant then i would use the above mentioned "shit" but thats only my opinion and not the law
and if i wanted to save a few hundred quid i would make my own bodywork rather than buy it ready made but i dont so i will.

if your gonna use a gasket you must use NITRILE rubber - look in your local yellow pages under gaskets and pipework etc for industry - i got a sheet from a local industrial unit cost me a fiver for a 2 foot square.. easiest way
