My belts have a long single atatchement so I have a lot of variance on where they can go.
Do they not have to be above your shoulder height?

Tubemitre was a program a lot of people have mentioned previous.Dunno if its relevent for what you want though.

the cros brace will be above shoulder height with the belts running over them. The location point will be elsewhere.

Does the roll bar have to be made out of round bar or can it be made out of 3 pieces of 50 x 50 box tube cut and welded to form the U shape?

Personally I used CDS as I found it easier to source off ebay than ERW that had thick enough walls (3mm+). I got 2.8m for about 30 quid including delivery which didn't seem that bad and would cover the braces and cross section. I would think making it out of 50x50 would be a bad idea as surely the welds wont be strong enough to hold in the event or a roll?

Thats a good point to raise, & easily overlooked,

I,m not sure of the precise wording in the IVA manual but the belts/harness are not supposed to pull directly downwards from the shoulder, as it may be possible in an impact that the force of the impact could break your collar bones .

Sounds like TT has this covered tho by having the webbing of the harness running over the top of the roll bar center brace

Thats the reason I waited until I had my seats before welding the center brace into position so that I could get the seat/shoulder/brace bar height to the correct position.

cheers

Surely having the belt so close to moving parts like the drive shafts is rather dangerous? Ours are fitted to the top rail and are rather expensive willans belts.

There are proper angles to mount harness...

It's like FIA rules or something... so I think IVA/SVA rules should be similar...

Ours are not mounted on the roll bar they are mounted on the top chassis tube, most cars of this type are done this way.

Mount them to the chassis rather than the roll over bar. Have a look at Westfield etc as these are all done like that.
We have Triton seats fitted and Mark drew up a quick how to do it guide for mounting the belts on the chassis for us.
