14hrs round trip would equate to something like 840 Miles. at 35MPG in my car (at best) is 24 Gallons which at £6.12 a gallon is £147

I would have put the engine on a pallet and had it shipped.

Your gallon is 160 oz, whereas ours is only 128 oz. So that would be $4.85 per UK gallon. and 4.85 USD = 2.9378 GBP

People in the US are really mad about the high cost of gasoline.

When I started driving arround 1992, it was 42.6p / L

I went to pick up 3 engines last summer from london, a round trip of about 600 miles ( I did take a bit of a detour ). I had all the seats out of the galaxy, drove at 50 MPH and managed 39MPG on the way down and 34 on the way back. The fuel cost made it unviable, but I visited a friend too so that counted as a cost benefit.
