![]() Never took much notice of the engine dimensionally when i used to have one, but i do remember that it was very very wide and would be a mare to put into a roadster!
You would probably have to relocate the turbo aswell due to clearance issues Also the one i had (2003) had 3 cats on it! so maybe it would be difficult to pass emmisions during iva without the original ecu and the cats, theres always a way but as with most things the "way" would cost a fortune And what gearbox would you use |

![]() I very much doubt it will fit in a standard chassis, nd bear in mind that there are 2 spark plugs on each side so you'd have to make access panels in the side panels of the car (it takes nearly an hour to change them in my legacy!)
As for ECU I think I would try to use the standard one. Oooh and if you did get it all to fit and work it would be one scary car!!!!! ![]() |

![]() There's no turbo on this engine but I've had another thought where does the front diff sit, is it part of the sump? I hav'nt got a standard chassis mine is the same size at the front but br11+12 are 100mm longer to accomadate my child bareing hips and fiesta si seats.

Is it a GX or GL you are looking at using?...I would definitely stick with the standard ECU as you will get far more out of the engine. If you could squeeze it all in, that would be one beast of a car!! Nathan |

![]() Weve been looking into fitting a scooby turbo lump into the haynes chassis since my brother crashed his!
The engine is 80cm wide and 47cm long, its to wide for the standard chassis but the length is perfect. The other problem is the exhaust manifolds are under the engine so will need abit of imagination. The gearbox is spot on for the roadster aswell , just have to convert it to 2WD which is really simple. go for it! |

![]() Had a chance to have a good look around the engine and box today and run a tape over it and compare to my chassis. The front corners of the valve covers will poke 20-30mm out side of the chassis so no major problem and they also fit between the top and bottom rails with not a huge amount of sump hanging below the chassis. It's got the whole wiring loom with it so should be plug and play more or less (fingers crossed).
The exhaust manifold(s) could be interesting though, I thought about bringing them towards br7, joining them together and chosing a side to exit them on. Another option is to have one either side and have it sound like a V twin ![]() ![]()
