Default old laptop with com port needed

im looking for an older laptop in working condition with com port
wifi would be a bonus

not looking to pay loads just need it for programming mainly doesent need to be pritty
im happy to reinstall operating systems and get it going again if needed

You can also buy a RS232 to USB converter.

I've got one to program my Emerald, and my laptop has only got usb.

up until last year Toshiba still made a range of laptops with rs232, if you are lucky you might be able to get one, we bought a couple at work just before they stopped making them

Have a look for HP NC6000 series laptops - a very popular business laptop that can be picked up cheaply and has RS232, USB and parallel ports and wifi on some models.

i have 3 of them not as stable as a real fixed com port also my laptop i have has win7 x64 and loads of programing software will not run in compatibilty mode as most are 16bit
