We use it on racing car also. It is a big improvement if you compare to the tank foam, as first, you can fill your tank with the particles after you've made the tank, the weight is 37g/litre, and the occupation is only 1,5% of the total volume. Their feature is not only to baffle the tank in order to avoid fuel starving, but also in case of crash, to avoid explosion by absorbing the pressure and heat. They encapsulate the fuel and actually act like hundreds of small deformable fuel tanks.
It is a very good product, and can't be bad for a road car... but is it necessary? It is totally up to you

I think I will go with it. Its just the thought of 5 gallons plus of squirt just behind your head and in an area with no protection. Not funny in a rear end shunt.

Most of the race cars I had anything to do with had foam of sorts in and no probs,the cells that RD sell have foam in and it holds a lot of fuel.
