2 pack paint thankfully is very much alive still in fact my car is in process of being painted with it at the moment.

Many of the large bodywork places who do insurance repairs have moved over to water based paint for the main colour (but still 2 pack for the primer and clear coat- work that out) but a lot of the smaller places who concentrate on repairs for the trade have stuck with and swear by 2 pack paint.
