Bonnet catches

Has anyone tried putting hinges on their bonnet as an alternative to removing it each time ?
Im finding it's not always practical to find somewhere safe and suitable to put the bonnet when it's off. No problem at home usually but quite hopeless at the side of the road in windy conditions if you just need to pull over and tweak the mixture or idle speed etc.

Check this link out - 4 pictures of yellow car on bottom of page. Im going the same way with my build, but looking for some nice hinges now...
