Hey Johno,
I put it that far forward for several reasons.
The official reason is to stop the kids stepping/burning themselves on it getting into the car, and to stop it melting the rear arch.
The real reason is I was too lazy to make it any longer, and too tight to buy the extra pipe (the bits I did use were fished out of the bin at work )

Not sure what to do about the exhaust clamp. I might just cover it in exhaust heat wrap, which might then fall off on the way home from the IVA
