Well, in order for the wishbone bushes to be completely symmetric, the tubes should be spaced out from the plate by 4.3 mm. In order for the plate to be centered on the tube, it should be raised a further 10 mm, to a total of 14.3 mm above the surface of the base plate. So, I'd say, you are correct.
Note that the height of this plate support structure was not specified in the first edition of the book, and was provided in the amendments instead.

Hooray! I've noticed something and been correct for once!!!
Cheers for the info Alga, I'm suprised I've never seen this mentioned anywhere else. My book is the second edition (corrected version I believe) and I made the support plate as stated. Result: No fit! Will go back to my shed and have a tinker now...
