A duratec swap seemed attractive as everyone will tell you the exhaust is on the same side so it must be simpler than a zetec- but when i actually spoke to people who had done the swap it needs a bell housing adaptor, modified gearbox spiggott plus time parts and money getting it fueled and sparking. Nope i want to drive the thing so I'll stick with the pinto and maybe sometime add a big valve head and faster cam to nudge up the bhp when cashflow allows.
When you think that a head+cams can net you the same hp as a zetec why bother.http://www.classicfordmag.co.uk/2011...cams-ht1e-cam/. I am not anti zetec but really struggle to understand the want to oust the the cvh/pinto untill you have explored the potential of what you have.I have had plenty of smiles per miles in a pinto powered escort van FMB I am showing my age cos it was a mk1
