Based on your experience, how much should be the minimum distance between the lower point of the oil sump to the ground? This will take into consideration the usual dampers/springs used on a Haynes Roadster (GAZ, Protech etc).
On my current setup i am afraid i am a bit low but i have the option to correct this. I use a bike engine and with the front ride height set to about 10cm, the distance between the sump and ground will be about 5-6 cm. I know that i can go for a higher ride height at the front, but do you think i am in danger? Thanks! |

I thought i read about this in another thread years ago,
120-150mm chassis height and 25-40mm below the chassis rail? I'm sure someone else will confirm this thou. |

Fit a sump guard, its an expensive mistake waiting to happen if you don't! And it does happen!

My engine sump sits about 1cm above the bottom of chassis rail
. Thinking of putting a skid plate under chassis for just in case... |
