I like that idea of a DIY conversion so have just bagged a manual choke kit for a different carb on Ebay for peanuts to give me a useable cable and hopefully be able to adapt some of the brackets and bits. It has to be better than paying the £ 58 or more they are asking for the Weber one.

Ive spent some time adusting the auto choke and it's now fine for starting but it idles too high and then drops down to a standard idle too soon so a pain at roundabouts and junctions.
