I guess that makes sense if they came with mounting collars.
I think I'll leave mine dangling in the wind and hope for the best (and take some clips and cable ties with me just in case!).

Slight change of subject, I think I promised to put up some more pics of my front wing stays.
Here's a couple of the passenger side.
It's made from 3mmx25mm strip, a bit of scrap 3mm plate, and some round tube from an old bed frame
