new build starting
Hi folks, some cracking motors you all have. Admin thanks for the email and user name etc thought it was me till i read the reason why.
right the main story. from a lad iv always messed with cars with my dad i learnt painting and engine work from about 5 onwards and the dream has always been to build my own car. so for years iv looked at roadsters but with life it took a back seat 1st came beer then love marriage house an then kids. well the mrs has give the green light so its builds away im going down the route of mx5 donor i have my plans and saturn ammendments and my dads pal who has his own welding shop is going to help with the welding for a beer or 2 i understand even though im going mx5 route i still need scort mk2 steering rack? Well for now thats it should start saturday. |

Welcome to the forum, and best of luck with the build!
You will need an escort steering rack, along with a pair of extensions to mate it to the mx5 track rod ends. Make sure you start a build thread and keep us updated with lots of pics. We like pics! And stick your location in your profile so we know where you are. |

Welcome to the madhouse. If u get stuck with anything then don't hesitate to ask on here. There is a wealth of knowledge and always builders at different stages of builds. Just remember, if u have a problem then there's a very good chance someone here has had it too!

What did you guys use to mark the angles on the steel im guessing scribe it but which anhle finder is best?

I used the trend digital angle gauge easier to read about 25 quid
|

I use a stanley knife to score in to the surface and because it's bright yellow it helps me find it again! Also by scoring the surface a dirty finger rubbed across it makes it a permanent fine black line which is much easier to see.
