Default Making your own GRP products

Hello,

I am in the process of tying to make my own GRP instrument Binnacle, however I am trying to locate a company that sells Stryofoam for a reasonable price to make the basic shape.

Does anyone know of a supplier near Newcastle / North east that can do this cheaply??

Thanks

David

Saturn MX5 Based Chassis, Limited Slip Diff & 2.4 Quick Rack.

Build cost.... seems to be spending more on tools than car bits at the moment! (they will be handy in the future though).
Car iva'd and passed 15/08/2014. Finished weight 572kg.

Its possible if you have shape in mind they could cut it for you.

You need to use expanded polyurethane foam either the blue or pink stuff with polyester glass gel other wise polyester gel will melt polystrene the common white stuff. I use a timber panel saw and a hand rasp to shape the foam it's easy enough just makes a bit of a mess.

Doesn't matter, EPS and XPS are melted by polyester resin, you need either PU foam, or PS foam coated with something like plaster.

Thanks for the replies. I spoke to ec fibreglass. They sell the pu foam fairly cheaply. I would normally use ebay but I'm never in to collect the parcels.
