The moulds not good, there's no reason why they are that tight. I had a similar problem with my old side panels from Gts, didn't have much of an issue with my current side panels tho.
You might be able to stretch them slowly, don't like the idea of cutting the bottom flange off or cutting chunks out of it. That's just asking for trouble.
