Boeing developed it for the Dreamliner. Stiffer, lighter and stronger than the equivelent thickness aluminium as used on every other plane. Also better at impact resistance.

2 layers of tinfoil thick aluminium and a layer of glassfibre 90° weave between them.

Pretty good idea. I might give it some thought for my build.
It was developed at the Technical University of Delft, first used on the Airbus A380. I don't think you can buy it, unless you are planning to make it yourself

It exist of a alu layer, glassfibre prepreg 90°, glassfibre prepreg 0°, alu layer, ...
