yes i did use the steel one as for the lock tight the intention was for it to never come off. if i take the crank pully bolt out it should come off as one unit. |

Looking good Ash
I've decided to take the plunge myself and go down the Megajolt route so will be doing the same thing quite soon. Have you thought about putting a little dowel pin through the adaptor you made into the pulley as a location aid so you can repeatable put it back in the same position if you ever have to take it off. Also whereabouts are you thinking of mounting the sensor. I was thinking of putting mine at the 3 o'clock position when viewed from the front. Have you cut your dizzy down to keep the oil pump drive? I did mine a few weeks and there are some pics on my album below if they are any help. Cheers Dave

Looks super good. I'm always made up to see the professional effort people put into kit cars, puts some parts suppliers and even manufacturers to shame. Excellent work

Great minds think alike Ash
Ash - have you got your megajolt unit - I'm can't decide whether to buy a unit or a kit - I like a challenge so building the kit is quite appealing but I'm slightly concerned about the surface mount bits. I've built a few complicated kits before but they were all thru-hole components. Your probably aware of this, but just as a heads up to anyone else following this thread, you cannot simply remove the distributor and plug the hole. The end of the distributor drive shaft has a hex cut in the end that engages with the oil pump drive - glad I found out about that one before I tried starting it!
